About This Trip

This is an 9 Day / 8 Night mission trip to Ukraine.
This team will visit various orphanages & programs in Dnipro.

This group is open to college students interested in serving children while learning important aspects of leadership. The team will visit various orphanages and other programs in Dnipro, Ukraine. If you are college-aged and/or are passionate about serving young adults, please pray about joining Orphan Outreach in serving children in Ukraine on this team!

About Ukraine

When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, Ukraine gained its independence from Russia. The orphanage system in Ukraine is similar to Russia where children who have been abandoned or taken from their homes in cases of neglect or abuse reside in orphanages. There are approximately 95,000 children in Ukrainian orphanages and these children must leave the orphanage by the time they are 16 or 17. The statistics for what happens to these young adults after graduating from the orphanage are heartbreaking. Many end up in prison or involved in drugs, prostitution, trafficking, or crime, with some resorting to suicide. Orphan Outreach worked with LifePoint Church to help develop a program for orphan graduates in Dnipro, Ukraine called Alpha Life. This ministry assists orphan graduates as they leave the orphanage system by providing spiritual, physical and emotional support. Orphan Outreach is partnering with Alpha Life ministry to help provide the safety net these graduates need as they transition to adulthood. The Alpha Life program provides weekly Bible studies, fellowship, holiday parties and more. Orphan Outreach is providing financial support, leadership and will bring short-term mission teams to Ukraine.

Orphan Outreach Mission Trip Baggage Policy

All mission trip participants are responsible for the cost of their checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. The cost of checked baggage depends on where you are traveling and your status with the airline. For the most up to date baggage allowances and fees, please check with each airline you are traveling on.

Occasionally we may ask trip participants to carry humanitarian aid and items needed for ministry in country. To save the cost of having to pay for the second bag on the return flight home, you can stuff a bag inside your other bag. Please ask before leaving behind a bag in your country of service.
