About This Trip

This is an 8 Day / 7 Night mission trip to Honduras.
This team will visit Hope of Jesus Children's Home, NiCo.

This team is open to individuals, but space is limited! The maximum team size is 15 people, so we encourage you to sign up today. This team will have the unique opportunity to visit both the Hope of Jesus Children's Home in Villanueva, Honduras, and the NiCo community outreach program in La Paz, Honduras. Participants will have the opportunity to facilitate tutoring, Bible lessons, recreational activities, and more. The team will also do community outreach in both towns.

About Honduras

Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Latin America and nearly two thirds of the nation's population lives below the poverty line. UNICEF estimates there are over 170,000 orphans in Honduras. Orphan Outreach ministers in Honduras by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations.

Team Leader

Kelly Liston, Ministry Volunteer

Kelly lives in Kennesaw Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, with her family. She has been married for 26 years to Dan and they have a son, Cole. God led Kelly to Orphan Outreach and her first mission trip in 2010. The adoption of their son from Ecuador was the most amazing experience in her life, and God expanded that blessing by placing her on the path with Orphan Outreach to love on kids in Guatemala and Honduras. Through these experiences, she has learned more about His word, His love, His grace and His plan for her.

Accommodations

The team will stay at a guest house in Villanueva close to the ministry sites and a guest house in La Paz close to the ministry sites. Men and women will be in separate bedrooms with bunk beds and bathrooms. The team will stay at a hotel in Tegucigalpa on the last night before traveling home. The land cost is based on a double-occupancy room with bathroom at the hotel. If you would like to have your own room, there will be an additional cost. Please email missions@orphanoutreach.org.

Orphan Outreach Mission Trip Baggage Policy

All mission trip participants are responsible for the cost of their checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. The cost of checked baggage depends on where you are traveling and your status with the airline. For the most up to date baggage allowances and fees, please check with each airline you are traveling on.

Occasionally we may ask trip participants to carry humanitarian aid and items needed for ministry in country. To save the cost of having to pay for the second bag on the return flight home, you can stuff a bag inside your other bag. Please ask before leaving behind a bag in your country of service.
