About This Trip

This is an 8 Day / 7 Night mission trip to Honduras.
This team will visit NiCo.

Join Turning Point at Calvary and Orphan Outreach in serving children in La Paz, Honduras. This group will minister at the NiCo community outreach program and the public schools in La Paz through academic support, Bible lessons, crafts, games, and more.

About Honduras

Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Latin America and nearly two thirds of the nation's population lives below the poverty line. UNICEF estimates there are over 170,000 orphans in Honduras. Orphan Outreach ministers in Honduras by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations.

Team Leader

Matthew Schonder, Ministry Volunteer

Matt is always excited to travel and connect with people who may have different stories and languages and appearances to share and act out the love of God. Matt has a Bachelors in Anthropology from the University of Florida and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Matt and his wife, Jessica, have been partnering with Orphan Outreach for several years in sponsorships and mission trips. They have 2 children, Arianna and Malachi. While home, Matt practices physical therapy in his hometown, where he is also serving as the college & young adults pastor at Turning Point at Calvary Church in St. Augustine, FL. He has years of experience in missions coordinating and a real desire to connect relationally with those around him.

Orphan Outreach Mission Trip Baggage Policy

All mission trip participants are responsible for the cost of their checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. The cost of checked baggage depends on where you are traveling and your status with the airline. For the most up to date baggage allowances and fees, please check with each airline you are traveling on.

Occasionally we may ask trip participants to carry humanitarian aid and items needed for ministry in country. To save the cost of having to pay for the second bag on the return flight home, you can stuff a bag inside your other bag. Please ask before leaving behind a bag in your country of service.
