About This Trip

This is an 7 Day / 6 Night mission trip to Honduras.
This team will visit San Jose orphanage and NiCo.

Join Orphan Outreach in serving children and families in Honduras. This team will spend the week ministering with children in the programs that Orphan Outreach has a long-term partnership with, both at San Jose orphanage and NiCo, a community-based after school program in La Paz. You will have a chance to build relationships, share the love of Jesus and use the gifts/passions/talents God has given you to minister to these kids and families.

About Honduras

Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Latin America and nearly two thirds of the nation's population lives below the poverty line. UNICEF estimates there are over 170,000 orphans in Honduras. Orphan Outreach ministers in Honduras by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations.

Team Leader

Katherine Cheng, Director of Missions

Katherine has a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Studies from Baylor University and a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She has been involved in orphan ministry since her first international mission trip in 2002. She has worked with Orphan Outreach since fall of 2007 when she served as a part-time missions assistant and spent four months of travel to all of our ministry sites as a consultant in 2010.

Kelsey Storm, Missions Coordinator

Kelsey''s passion for orphans and vulnerable children stems from several domestic and international mission trips, volunteer experience in a residential childcare agency, and work experience in a nonprofit afterschool program. She and her husband, Todd, hope to become foster parents someday. Kelsey has a BA in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin.

The team will stay in hotels close to the ministry sites. The land cost is based on double-occupancy rooms with bathrooms. If you would like to have your own room, there will be an additional cost and please email missions@orphanoutreach.org.

Worried about finances?

Orphan Outreach Mission Trip Baggage Policy

All mission trip participants are responsible for the cost of their checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. The cost of checked baggage depends on where you are traveling and your status with the airline. For the most up to date baggage allowances and fees, please check with each airline you are traveling on.

Occasionally we may ask trip participants to carry humanitarian aid and items needed for ministry in country. To save the cost of having to pay for the second bag on the return flight home, you can stuff a bag inside your other bag. Please ask before leaving behind a bag in your country of service.
