About This Trip

This is an 8 Day / 7 Night mission trip to Honduras.
This team will visit Jubilee School.

This trip is also open to individuals from 121 Community Church and individuals from all over the US. Orphan Outreach and 121 Community Church will be serving children and families at Jubilee Centers International, a Christian school that has been a light in the slum community of La Era since 2009. The team will help celebrate and honor the teachers and staff at Jubilee as they approach the end of the school year. They will also spend time ministering in the classrooms at Jubilee through Bible programs, games, and helping teachers with basic subjects.

About Honduras

Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Latin America and nearly two thirds of the nation's population lives below the poverty line. UNICEF estimates there are over 170,000 orphans in Honduras. Orphan Outreach ministers in Honduras by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations.

Team Leader

Jay & Becky Purchase, Ministry Volunteer

Jay and Becky are members of 121 Community Church in Grapevine, TX. They met each other at church doing what they enjoy the most - serving. Both have had the joy of serving in foreign countries - Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Honduras. They love the camaraderie of a team traveling together and serving Christ as one body - yet so many different parts that are unique. They also love the privilege of meeting Christians in another part of the world, fellowshipping and worshiping the one true God with them while visiting and serving alongside them in another country. While serving the people and the children in that area as you share God’s love they know that you yourself come away changed and blessed. This is what keeps them going time and time again. Jay works in the auction business - primarily auto and purebred livestock, and Becky is a house call veterinarian. They have 2 daughters and 2 cats and 2 dogs.

The team will stay in hotels close to the ministry sites. The land cost is based on double-occupancy rooms with bathrooms. If you would like to have your own room, there will be an additional cost and please email missions@orphanoutreach.org.

Orphan Outreach Mission Trip Baggage Policy

All mission trip participants are responsible for the cost of their checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. The cost of checked baggage depends on where you are traveling and your status with the airline. For the most up to date baggage allowances and fees, please check with each airline you are traveling on.

Occasionally we may ask trip participants to carry humanitarian aid and items needed for ministry in country. To save the cost of having to pay for the second bag on the return flight home, you can stuff a bag inside your other bag. Please ask before leaving behind a bag in your country of service.
