About This Trip

This is an 6 Day / 5 Night mission trip to Guatemala.
This team will visit Love the Child baby home, the Ravine/Dump Community Outreach Center, and the Down Syndrome school.

This is a WOW team (made up of families and individuals) that will serve at several Orphan Outreach ministry sites WOW supports in Guatemala. The team will visit the Baby Home in Guatemala City, the Ravine Community and Community Care Center, the Down Syndrome school and Hope and Future orphanage where they'll spend a few days building relationships with the children and helping with orphanage improvements.

About Guatemala

UNICEF estimates that are over 370,000 orphans in Guatemala. Many of these children come from families facing extreme poverty; 70 percent of people in Guatemala live below the poverty level. Orphan Outreach ministers in Guatemala by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations. We also make it a priority to come alongside the Guatemalan nationals and work with them as they serve their own people.

Team Leader

Tiffany Taylor Wines, Director of Development & Marketing

Tiffany has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Christian University and a Graduate Marketing Certificate from Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. She was a partner of a marketing firm for 12 years. In 1996 and 1998, she and her husband traveled to Russia for the adoption of their infant children. That journey caused her to dedicate herself to making a difference for many of the world''s orphan children that have no chance of a loving family. Since 1999, Tiffany has directed marketing for orphan ministries and led several mission trips each year. Tiffany and her daughter, Inna, are founding members of the auxiliary to Orphan Outreach called Women for Orphans Worldwide (WOW).

Jennifer Kassing, Grant Coordinator for Joseph's DreamCoat

Jennifer Kassing earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southern Methodist University. She married the boy next door, Jay Kassing, in 1996 and has homeschooled their five children. In 2002, God laid on the couple''s heart a desire to grow their family through international adoption. This led them to Guatemala to bring home their son in 2003. This began Jennifer''s passion and pursuit to serve, volunteer and raise awareness for global orphan care. She humbly joined the Orphan Outreach team in 2018 as their Grant Coordinator for Joseph''s DreamCoat.

Accommodations

The team will stay in hotels close to the ministry sites. The land cost is based on double-occupancy rooms with bathrooms. If you would like to have your own room, there will be an additional cost and please email missions@orphanoutreach.org.

Orphan Outreach Mission Trip Baggage Policy

All mission trip participants are responsible for the cost of their checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. The cost of checked baggage depends on where you are traveling and your status with the airline. For the most up to date baggage allowances and fees, please check with each airline you are traveling on.

Occasionally we may ask trip participants to carry humanitarian aid and items needed for ministry in country. To save the cost of having to pay for the second bag on the return flight home, you can stuff a bag inside your other bag. Please ask before leaving behind a bag in your country of service.
