About This Trip

This is an 8 Day / 7 Night mission trip to Guatemala.
This team will visit Little House of Refuge, Xela Government home, Hope and Future.

This team will be serving at several ministry sites in Guatemala. The ministry needs vary and could include: physical improvement projects, teaching/tutoring, as well as recreation and prayer activities. Please consider joining this team and seeing what God is doing in Guatemala through Orphan Outreach and LifePoint Church.

About Guatemala

UNICEF estimates that are over 370,000 orphans in Guatemala. Many of these children come from families facing extreme poverty; 70 percent of people in Guatemala live below the poverty level. Orphan Outreach ministers in Guatemala by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations. We also make it a priority to come alongside the Guatemalan nationals and work with them as they serve their own people.

Team Leader

Carole Hoover, Team Leader, LifePoint Church

Carole has been a resident of Carroll County all of her life and a part of LifePoint Church for over nine years. She has been an employee for over 14 years at Consolidated Insurance Center as a Personal Lines Risk Manager and salesperson. She has three children in their 20''s and had been actively looking for a church the would offer an engaging youth program for her youngest daughter. She found that and so much more. Although she had accepted Jesus as her Savior since she was a child, life and poor choices had taken her far from that wonderful, narrow path on her journey with God. After attending Start Point and with guidance and instruction from the teaching team and participation in Women''s Bible studies, she has become more focused on learning about Jesus and strengthening her relationship with God. Carole has become an active volunteer at LifePoint and in her community. She is currently the chairperson of her community involvement committee at her work, is involved in Uprising (youth ministry) and leads a delightful group of young ladies in a weekly ALG (youth small group). She has travel several times to Guatemala as part of the Life Point partnership with Orphan Outreach.

The team will stay in hotels close to the ministry sites. The land cost is based on double-occupancy rooms with bathrooms. If you would like to have your own room, there will be an additional cost and please email missions@orphanoutreach.org.

Orphan Outreach Mission Trip Baggage Policy

All mission trip participants are responsible for the cost of their checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. The cost of checked baggage depends on where you are traveling and your status with the airline. For the most up to date baggage allowances and fees, please check with each airline you are traveling on.

Occasionally we may ask trip participants to carry humanitarian aid and items needed for ministry in country. To save the cost of having to pay for the second bag on the return flight home, you can stuff a bag inside your other bag. Please ask before leaving behind a bag in your country of service.
