About This Trip

This is an 7 Day / 6 Night mission trip to Guatemala.
This team will visit Little House of Refuge, Xela Government home, Down Syndrome School, Love the Child.

This group is open to college students interested in serving children while learning important aspects of leadership. The team will travel to Quetzaltenango (also known as Xela) to visit Little House of Refuge, a privately run orphanage. They will also spend time at the Government Home for Girls, and we’ll minister to young moms who haven been rescued from trafficking and abuse. The team will then travel back to Guatemala city to visit the Down Syndrome school, and Love the Child baby home. If you are between the ages of 18-25, please pray about joining Orphan Outreach in serving children in Guatemala this May!

About Guatemala

UNICEF estimates that are over 370,000 orphans in Guatemala. Many of these children come from families facing extreme poverty; 70 percent of people in Guatemala live below the poverty level. Orphan Outreach ministers in Guatemala by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations. We also make it a priority to come alongside the Guatemalan nationals and work with them as they serve their own people.

Orphan Outreach Mission Trip Baggage Policy

All mission trip participants are responsible for the cost of their checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. The cost of checked baggage depends on where you are traveling and your status with the airline. For the most up to date baggage allowances and fees, please check with each airline you are traveling on.

Occasionally we may ask trip participants to carry humanitarian aid and items needed for ministry in country. To save the cost of having to pay for the second bag on the return flight home, you can stuff a bag inside your other bag. Please ask before leaving behind a bag in your country of service.
