About This Trip

This is an 6 Day / 5 Night mission trip to Guatemala.
This team will visit Community Care Center, Love the Child.

This team will visit various ministry sites in the Antigua and Guatemala City area. This is a student and friend team of Lisa Browning by invitation only.

About Guatemala

UNICEF estimates that are over 370,000 orphans in Guatemala. Many of these children come from families facing extreme poverty; 70 percent of people in Guatemala live below the poverty level. Orphan Outreach ministers in Guatemala by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations. We also make it a priority to come alongside the Guatemalan nationals and work with them as they serve their own people.

Team Leader

Lisa Browning, volunteer trip leader

Lisa Browning lives in Dallas, Texas and began traveling with Orphan Outreach in 2013. From her first experience with the community of Chimaltenago and the precious children living in the orphanages served by Orphan Outreach, Lisa''s heart was opened for the vulnerable in Guatemala. Since becoming an empty nester in 2016, she has been reducing her professional involvements and increasing her time spent in Guatemala, coming along side orphans and those marginalized by poverty. In Dallas, Lisa serves as a seminar facilitator for an adult life enrichment program, The Road Adventure, volunteers with Wesley Rankin Community Center and walks with women as they grow their relationship with Jesus. Lisa has served on the Board of Directors for the Suicide Crisis Center and is currently a member of their Advisory Board. She has held positions on the Boards of Directors for One World Foods and Stubb''s Austin Restaurant Company and continues to act as the managing member for Lupton Partners, LLC, FlapoG Enterprises, LLC and Purely Golden, LLC.

The team will stay in hotels close to the ministry sites. The land cost is based on double-occupancy rooms with bathrooms. If you would like to have your own room, there will be an additional cost and please email missions@orphanoutreach.org.

Orphan Outreach Mission Trip Baggage Policy

All mission trip participants are responsible for the cost of their checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. The cost of checked baggage depends on where you are traveling and your status with the airline. For the most up to date baggage allowances and fees, please check with each airline you are traveling on.

Occasionally we may ask trip participants to carry humanitarian aid and items needed for ministry in country. To save the cost of having to pay for the second bag on the return flight home, you can stuff a bag inside your other bag. Please ask before leaving behind a bag in your country of service.
