About This Trip

This is an 7 Day / 6 Night mission trip to Guatemala.
This team will visit Ministry in Lake Atitlan communities, Good Shepherd Academy, Down Syndrome School in Guatemala City.

This team from Birchman Baptist Church will be serving in the communities around the beautiful Lake Atitlan in central Guatemala. The team will be partnering with the local Baptist church by serving families in the Cerro de Oro community. Beyond that, there may also be opportunities to provide biblical teaching activities and/or training through the local church as well as evangelism in the area public and private schools. The team will also visit one of our other ministries near Guatemala City. Prayerfully consider joining this team!

About Guatemala

UNICEF estimates that are over 370,000 orphans in Guatemala. Many of these children come from families facing extreme poverty; 70 percent of people in Guatemala live below the poverty level. Orphan Outreach ministers in Guatemala by partnering with local orphanages, churches, and Christian schools for children in extreme poverty situations. We also make it a priority to come alongside the Guatemalan nationals and work with them as they serve their own people.

Team Leader

Morgan Scott, Missions Coordinator

Morgan received a BA in Communication Theory, with a minor in Spanish from Dallas Baptist University. Her dedication to serving children began in 2006 on her first international trip to Antigua, Guatemala. She has since traveled with multiple teams to various sites in Guatemala, Peru, and Cuba, and completed two, month long, internships in Guatemala. Morgan and her husband Caleb live in Dallas. She is currently serving as Missions Coordinator with a focus on Guatemala trips.

Orphan Outreach Mission Trip Baggage Policy

All mission trip participants are responsible for the cost of their checked baggage. When traveling internationally, most airlines allow passengers to carry two checked bags at 50 pounds maximum. The cost of checked baggage depends on where you are traveling and your status with the airline. For the most up to date baggage allowances and fees, please check with each airline you are traveling on.

Occasionally we may ask trip participants to carry humanitarian aid and items needed for ministry in country. To save the cost of having to pay for the second bag on the return flight home, you can stuff a bag inside your other bag. Please ask before leaving behind a bag in your country of service.
