Serving in the Ravine

Today we woke up bright and early. We started off the day with a great breakfast at a table big enough for all of us. We finished up and grabbed our bags for the day and headed out.

Our first stop today was the new Ravine School. It was such a productive morning. We start off with painting the mural as well as helping all of the children make puppets. You can't help but smile when you are around the children. They are so happy and grateful to be in your presence. You just feel the love.

After leaving the school we went straight to My Special Treasure. We went to the mall and each girl got Q760.00 ($100) to spend on whatever their heart desired. They were so grateful and appreciative. We shopped for about 2 hours and then said our good-byes.

We headed back to the hotel and 20 minutes after we got back, a lady came to meet us. She is a single mother here in Guatemala and is part of an organization helping single moms . These moms have jobs close to where they live so that they can be done working when their kids are done with school. I bought a backpack, pants and a satchel. All of the items were so pretty and very "Guatemalan". We ended the night on a great note at the hotel for dinner. It's going to be so sad leaving.
