Pledge to Pray
Orphan Outreach covets the prayers of those who want to join us to pray for specific needs that affect our ministry and the children we serve. We have God's promise that our prayers are not in vain, even if we don't receive specifically what we asked for (Matthew 6:6; Romans 8:26-27).If you are interested in receiving our bi-monthly prayer email, please provide your name and email address in the form located on the sidebar to the right. The Orphan Outreach prayer email is sent on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month and contains specific prayer requests from our ministry programs and the children we serve.

Ingrid Castillo, age 16, joins the My Special Treasure Family in Chimaltenango, Guatemala
(Posted on Monday, October 29, 2012)
Please pray for Ingrid who was sent to Mi Especial Tesoro (My Special Treasure) earlier this month by order of the Chimaltengo Judge. Before arriving at My Special Treasure, Ingid lived at a home called Castillo, which is closing in November, resulting in all the children from this home being transferred to other homes.(Posted on Monday, October 29, 2012)
Ingrid is very happy to be a part of the My Special Treasure (MST) family. Carol and Cesar, the parents who run the home (MST), have known Ingrid since she was 5 years old; she is a very sweet girl and a little shy but she is adjusting well to her new home.
Ingrid is 16 years old and struggles with learning difficulties. The home where she previously lived never provided her the opportunity to properly learn to read and write. Carol and Cesar know that the Lord has sent Ingrid to MST to improve her learning abilities. She will begin tutoring with Paola, a member of the Orphan Outreach staff, who is going to apply learning techniques that will help her improve little by little. Please pray for Ingrid and the entire My Special Treasure family. Pray for Ingrid as she settles into her new home, that she will feel the love and acceptance of each girl at My Special Treasure. Pray for her as she begins tutoring, that she may begin to improve her reading and writing skills and will gain confidence in herself and her studies and will grow into a wonderful and confident student.
Please also pray for the all the children at the Castillo home in Chimaltenago as they are all being relocated into new homes. Please pray for the Lord to place them into safe, healthy environments where they can grow in their knowledge of who Christ is and develop a relationship with Him.

The girls are done with the school year and now they are at home enjoying their vacation time! We praise the Lord for Paola who has been working with the girls and making an amazing impact on them. The girls feel safe with her and she has been able to speak to them about so many of the tragic events in their lives and help them to heal.

Continue to Pray for Eunice
Santvana Children's Home —
Pune, India (pictured at left)
(Posted on Tuesday, October 09, 2012)
Dr. Edwards confirms that Eunice is certainly beyond any medical help at this stage, but we were amazed as a team to see her do better every day while we were there and ministering to her. Despite this, it is still a situation where she could go any time. The other children are doing an amazing job of caring and spending time with her at her bedside, and it was such a blessing for us as a team to witness this. They are all aware of her situation and yet the Joy of The Lord was strong in that place. Please continue to pray for Eunice and place her at God's feet daily.

My special treasure family is really grateful for all the prayers for Damaris and Maria. Praise the Lord! (Update on 10/5/12 — Julia Oseida, Guatemala)Thank you so much for praying for Damaris and Maria. Maria is recovering from her operation. She is at home at My Special Treasure and is being cared for by Carol and Cesar. She is on antibiotics and slowly healing. Damaris is still struggling with health issues. She has been in and out of the hospital several times over the past week struggling with stomach pain and discomfort, in addition to the minor stroke she suffered, and the doctor's discovered on Saturday that she also had an obstruction in her intestines. She was treated and is now back at home at My Special Treasure recovering as well. Please keep both Maria and Damaris in your prayers as they are recovering, as well as Carol and Cesar as they continue to care for the girls. We are thankful for all the prayers and give thanks for the additional donations that came in this past month which covered the various trips to the hospital. (Update on 10/3/12)
